ADCO Construction selected to build Kingston’s $87,000,000 Aquatic and Leisure Centre
ADCO Construction has been chosen to undertake the City of Kingston’s largest-ever project: constructing a new $87 million Aquatic and Leisure Centre. This modern facility will be located on Governor Road in Mordialloc and will significantly enhance the community’s overall well-being by promoting health, fitness, and social engagement.
A Hub for Wellness and Recreation
The City of Kingston’s upcoming Aquatic and Leisure Centre will be a focal point for physical activity, relaxation, and community interaction. Designed with cutting-edge facilities, the centre will offer a wide variety of amenities, ensuring that it caters to people of all ages and fitness levels.
Key Highlights of the Centre Include:
- Multiple Swimming Pools: The centre will house four pools, including a 50-metre multipurpose pool for lap swimming, a learn-to-swim pool ideal for beginners, a warm water pool for therapeutic exercises, and a leisure pool for family activities.
- Wellness Amenities: Visitors will also be able to enjoy wellness facilities such as a spa, sauna, and steam room, offering spaces for rest and rejuvenation.
- Fitness Facilities: A state-of-the-art gym and fitness areas will provide a variety of workout options, accommodating different exercise routines and fitness classes.
- Café: A lively café will serve as a community gathering spot, perfect for socialising and unwinding.
- Supporting Facilities: A welcoming foyer, modern change village, and extensive car parking will ensure an accessible and comfortable experience for all visitors.
Building a Healthier Kingston
Scheduled to break ground later this year, the centre is expected to be completed by mid-2026. Once finished, it will stand as a significant addition to the City of Kingston’s infrastructure, supporting its mission to encourage healthier, more active lifestyles through the provision of high-quality health and fitness services.
According to an ADCO Construction representative, the company is honoured to be involved in such a milestone project. They expressed confidence that the facility will enhance the physical and mental well-being of the local community and foster social connections by creating a welcoming space for all.
A Community Asset for All Ages
Upon completion, the Aquatic and Leisure Centre will become a prime destination for residents of Mordialloc and surrounding areas. From swimming and fitness classes to relaxation in the spa, the facility will be equipped to meet the diverse needs of its visitors.
ADCO Construction is committed to delivering a first-class leisure centre that will serve the City of Kingston for many years to come, contributing to a healthier and more connected community.
