1 – Google them, if they have an excellent reputation, you will find out pretty quickly with a simple Google Search. Interview them before you even pick up the phone or enquire online.
2- Ask about their experience & learn how long have you been in the industry as a Buyers Agent.
3 – Ask if they are willing to share some clients details?
4 – Do they have a strong local knowledge of the area they’ll be searching in for you?
5 – Do they own property themselves? If so, how has it performed?
6 – Ask to see a list of properties they have purchased for their previous buyer agent clients.
7 – Ask them about their fee structure. The old saying “Pay peanuts and you get monkey’s rings true here” As a general guide buyer’s agents full-service fees work out to typically be 1.5-2% + GST of the purchase price. It’s similar to what selling agents charge for selling a property.
