Get ready for a splash-tastic addition to Melbourne’s attraction lineup – the city is set to welcome the most giant surf and water park in the Southern Hemisphere!
The much-anticipated Surf ‘n’ Play Aquatic Park has been approved after a rigorous five-year planning and approval process. Set to enhance Melbourne’s reputation as a hub for world-class entertainment, the Park will sprawl across 38,200 square metres in Dingley Village, South East Melbourne, nestled between Moorabbin and Mordialloc.
Designed by the same visionary minds behind the Melbourne Aquarium and Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC), this park promises to be a standout addition to the city’s leisure landscape.
Highlights include a dedicated surfing section featuring wave pools capable of generating up to six waves per minute, reaching heights of six feet. Four distinct surfing zones cater to all skill levels, from novices to seasoned pros. The park will also boast six thrilling water slides, interactive water tunnels, and a leisurely lazy river for those seeking a more relaxed experience.
Although an exact opening date has not been specified, construction is scheduled to commence within the next year and is expected to take approximately two years.
